Tile installers from The Spieker Co. worked along side ARDEX Sales Professional Derek Zimmerman at Bowling Green State University. The college business administration building steps required several repairs. The Spieker and Co installers pulled up 12″x6′ slabs of granite (3 cm thick), re-pitched and formed the existing substrate with ARDEX CP™ Concrete Patch and used ARDEX X 32™ MICROTEC® Universal Rapid Setting and Drying Thin-to-Thick Bed Mortar to reinstall newer slabs of the same dimensions. Excellent installation!
Ken Ballin of Skryo Floors recently used ARDEX 8+9™ Rapid Waterproofing and Crack Isolation Compound, ARDEX AF 207™ Pre-Mixed, Rapid Set Uncoupling Membrane Bonding Adhesive, and ARDEX UI 740™ FLEXBONE® Uncoupling Membrane on a residential bathroom renovation! ARDEX FLEXBONE® Shears also came in handy!
ARDEX and HENRY are proud supporters of INSTALL (International Training and Standards Alliance – for Floorcovering Professionals) and their commitment to training and certification programs. Over the years, INSTALL has recognized the increasing need for specialized training and certification regarding substrate preparation. Their certification process is a true collaborative effort between INSTALL educators, contractors and industry manufacturers to develop a revised substrate preparation curriculum combined with written and hands-on evaluation.
A contributor and vocal supporter of this process is Seth Pevarnik, ARDEX Director of Technical Service who notes, “ARDEX is pleased with the commitment that INSTALL has made regarding subfloor and substrate preparation. As a long-time industry partner we have supported this certification since its inception.”
Recently held at the Floor Coverers and Carpenters Union training facility in St. Paul, MN, ARDEX and HENRY partnered with INSTALL to conduct training and education to local contractors and installers. Facilitated by Craig Morris, ARDEX Manager of Technical Service, the training mixed hands-on and practical education, keeping real life scenarios in mind. This training highlights how two industry leading organizations can work together to share knowledge and best practices in support of the overall floorcovering industry.
Lamar De Los Santos of Texas Best Tile located in San Antonio, Texas, uses ARDEX X 5™ Flexible Tile and Stone Mortar and ARDEX UI 740™ FLEXBONE® Uncoupling Mat on a custom home tile installation. “Loving the Flexbone! It lays flat with no curl and the pre-fill is so easy. This uncoupling membrane is the way to go!”, says Lamar.
ARDEX Americas was recently recognized for 10-years of service for maintaining Todd Road as part of the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s (PennDOT) “Adopt a Highway” program. ARDEX participates in the effort to keep Pennsylvania litter-free and beautiful, earning community service credits and staying involved as dedicated, civic-minded organization.
Rhonda West, ARDEX Americas Director of Human Resources explains, “We should all be very proud of this recognition. Our team has put in many hard hours together in the ‘bush’ over the years and has made a positive difference in our community!”
Four times a year volunteers from ARDEX spend time collecting the unsightly trash that litters Todd Road. PennDOT provides trash bags and orange safety vests to the ARDEX volunteers. PennDOT maintenance crews then pick up the collected refuse and dispose of it free-of-charge in approved landfills.
Congratulations to ARDEX Americas for cleaning one of Pennsylvania’s roads for 10-years -one trash bag at a time!
